thank heavens it's nov 5th

I just wanted to say how excited i am that the election is over.... we were getting smothered to death here in ohio and just wanted it OVER! however, i am a little worried with what lies ahead of us. i do think it is time that we had an african-american president, i just wonder it should be him?! i guess i would just like to hear a few questions answered about his past/ties/etc... instead of being avoided and never 'fully disclosed'. it scares me that he wouldn't be allowed a second interview with the secret service because of his past/ties, he would never be able to work for the FBI, CIA, etc... but we VOTE him to be the leader of our country and are moving him into our white house!
BUT can i just tell you how ABSOLUTELY ABSURD it is that Ohio has so many electoral votes! half these people out here don't know their ass from their elbow (i am really trying to love my neighbor) and they are the ones the candidates are trying to win over. it doesn't take too much- all they need is someone telling them they will 'spread the wealth' and spoon feed them just a little bit more and they are SOLD!!! man, if you could be a fly on the wall in our house and hear some of the conversations that Nate and i have! if the world would just listen to us everything would be perfect :) we have it all worked out!!! it has been such an eye opener to be here in Ohio for an election- especially this one! all i can say is i hope we aren't here in two years when the next round of campaigning starts :) .... every AD on tv was about the election and people coming to my door and stopping me out on the street, AND they don't even know where 'their' candidate stands on any certain issue!!! it amazes me everyday! at least they are passionate about it- i will give that to them. maybe i need a serious attitude adjustment and see the good in them- atleast they are showing their support.
it is hard for me to believe that people consider themselves "educated, or ethical, or have any values" and stand where Obama

stands on abortion. I cannot even describe in words, my feelings that i could legally still end the life of my little girl that is growing inside me and it not be considered MURDER! her little personality is already apparent, she has this schedule that i have come to know and expect from her, she is constantly moving and stretching, she can open her eyes and blink, she can hears us, she gets the hiccups :), i've seen her swallow, her heartbeat, the chambers of her heart-- HOW CAN SOMEONE SAY THAT ISN"T MURDER!?!? how can they say it is okay to rip them out without any anesthetic and plop them in a trash can EVEN if they are showing signs of breathing!? how can you respect a person that says ' ya, go ahead, that's alright'?! i guess they will have their own answering to do someday. now that i am bawling my eyes out- Nate just walked in the room wondering what in the world was going because i am bawling- i will leave the topic!
i look at Obama and i want to like him- hopefully he will prove me wrong! if ashley likes him then he MUST be cool -right!?! i love you ashley- miss you tons!

Your rant about Ohio almost made me miss it... I voted for Obama though, can we still be friends?

I have to agree that I myself completly disagree with abortion. I would never even think about doing it myself and wish others would feel the same. I guess that what I have come to accept is that not eveyone does or has to see things the way that I do. It is a part of the blessing of agency I suppose, and like you said we will all one day answer for the decisons that we make. I have to agree with the others that Obama was a better choice than McCain. I know its suprising seems how I'm from a very conservative family in Utah lol.

Oh Paigie...Thanks for making me cry about the abortion thing. I think that is the most horrible thing for someone to think that is ok. It makes me sick. I really don't pay attention enough to know much about the politics (thats bad huh) Glad that is over for you out there now.
