what january looked like around here.....

January is always an interesting month around here. EJ was counting down the days until her birthday and The Disney Channel mentioned EVERYDAY that it was January which it only added to the frustration. The first time they mentioned it was January she came running in my room :today is my birthday Mom!!!  So then we had the lesson of the days of that are in the month. By about the 18th she told me she wanted a different number. I asked her what she meant and she replied that twenty two was too long and she wanted ten. I told her she could change it but that meant that her birthday was over for the year..... she quickly changed her mind and we talked about how you can't change the day because it is the day you actually came to earth. It definitely made for some fun {frustrating} conversation.  

These two have become little buddies.... they have always been buddies but this last month they have really become friends. EJ has become a little mother and loves to help take care of him. She often will offer me tips on how to better deal with him when i am frustrated...... it doesn't add to the frustration AT ALL ;). " Mom i have an idea. Let's try talking nicely to him and see if he responds to that." really?! i am sorry, Responds?! How old are you again!? She is full of tips and i get a kick out of her!

she loves reading/telling him stories at night...

Rowen LOVES his shark towel and it is a ritual -once he is wrapped in it- to chase dad and ej around while making the 'Jaws' noises.

ej started dance at a studio here in Springville and LOVES it! This was her and Nate waiting for the first day to start!

This sweet boy can be SO DECEIVING

... you turn your back for 1 minute and he is into something!!!! This particular day it was conditioner and my lipstick.....YES, in the same day!

up to something here..... not quit sure....

They finished construction on the house next door and I have mixed feelings about it. I hated the noise and all the mess. HOWEVER, the hours of entertainment it provided this little boy were PRICELESS!

We had some props I was using for a Relief Society activity. EJ was dying to try them on.... so we played around with them before bed one night! Rowen put on the pirate props on and never wanted to change.

 We did a few projects this month- Nate put hardware on our cabinets and it is AWESOME! He did an awesome job and i LOVE the way it looks!

I started using some fun chalk paint and painted a few things around here.
