two years!

all dressed up for the first time......

emersyn turned TWO! in about two minutes {two years ago} i laid my eyes on the most amazing thing EVER! my heart skipped a beat and completely melted. it changed FOREVER. those first few days and weeks are somewhat of a blur with everything that was going on but i remember the emotion. i think that is why our emotions get so hypersensitive, because if they didn't you remember ANYTHING! i love to play through that first night. i remember waking up about 2 hours after i delivered and i couldn't go back to sleep. i though tto myself "well, if i can't sleep i should be holding her. i can hold her whenever i want and for however long i want." then i woke nate up to go get her from the nursery for me :)

we just finished up a great party! as everyone was here.... crowded in our tiny house..... amongst all the chaos and noise.... i stopped for just a moment....i watched ej interact with everyone.... i had the thought "all these people are here for HER. just for HER! and she has no clue"! later i started thinking about everyone individually and the relationship they have with us, and with ej!

i may have started crying on my way to costco today.... thinking about her birth.... her two years with us.... then the thought of us leaving. soon we will leave the city in which she was born, the house that we brought her home to, the family and friends that have been our support system out here. her last birthday spent in Ohio.
