the first day was our longest drive, about 9 1/2 hours of driving which computed to 12 hours of traveling! ej was a CHAMP! we had two long breaks... at lunch, then again at about 4. we stopped at a rest station that had a playground that ej LOVED. she spent about 45 mins going down the slide and running all over! we made it to Macomb, IL that evening.... which was just east of Nauvoo. we were spending some of the following day in Nauvoo seeing some of the Church sites. Wednesday was THE MOST BEAUTIFUL day of the year BY FAR! it was about 72 and NO humidity. it was so nice to be out of the car and walking around in the FABULOUS weather. Nauvoo was great to see. i wish we had more time to spend there. at about 4pm we head out for our 2 hour drive to Ottumwa, Iowa for the night. Thursday, Friday and Saturday all had about a 6 hour drive each day. we took it rather slow but it was great to sleep in and eat breakfast before our drive and then get to our new destination that evening in time for dinner and to have LOTS of time to swim at the hotels!!!! we ALL loved the swimming part. BUT, by saturday we were SO ready to be DONE! again, it was a LIFESAVER to have my parents with us the entire way. they sacrificed SO much to help us get home and we CANNOT thank them enough! they both had to take work off and rearrange things to make it possible to take almost two weeks round-trip to drive out to cleveland, celebrate nate's graduation, help us pack, and then drive all our stuff across the country! Thank you!

she LOVED the BIG, COZY beds to watch cartoons on in the mornings!
