kiddos update

i have pretty much just been trying to keep up with the house and have failed to blog too much about the kiddos.... rest assured they are growing and changing so fast.... sometimes just as quickly as the house it seems!

emersyn could read books all day, everyday! she loves it. she even knows a few from memory!

 rowen is really growing fast. this last week he has been SOOO busy.... i am really afraid of what is to come with this little rugrat! 

 emersyn started some gymnastics. it is an open gym that we go to and she loves it! it pretty much has mats and beams and foam pits for the kids to jump into and play in/on/around.

the other morning Rowen was going nuts with mouth-farts and bubbles. he would make a loud, long mouth-fart and then bust up laughing... this went on ALL MORNING! it made me laugh because he was concentrating on it SO HARD {as obvious by pictures}. later that morning emersyn joined him. he would mouth-fart then she would, and back and forth. he was SOOOO proud of himself. i think he realized that he was making the same noises as her and he was able to control it. he had this look of accomplishment and sheer excitement over this new found thing!

as these two interact more and more it melts my heart. Rowen LOVES to sit by ej and just laugh with her. ej loves to make him laugh so it is a win/win situation. PLUS they entertain each other so mom wins too!!!!!!! 

emeersyn is always surprising us with new pops of attitude! the other morning she was on a kick of telling me no... so she got put on timeout. after timeout we had a talk about not telling me no. maybe an hour or two passed and i asked her to please go grab my phone. she got this look of concern. followed by a look of deep thought, and then it was like a light bulb clicked on and she said "mom, i am not going to say 'yes', alright?" i was laughing so hard. she totally didn't want to get the phone but knew she couldn't tell me 'no' so she found a way to do both! she is too smart! she has a remarkable memory too! the things she remembers BLOWS us away. she will talk about things that happened over a year ago, in DETAIL. she also has watched these sight words videos {probably 3 times} and she can already recognized a handful of the words. i just get a kick out of her! this week while the warm weather was here we were swinging in grandma and grandpa's backyard. she looked over at me and said " we best friends mom! you my best friend!" it melted my heart! i always tell her she is my best friend and she will either nod her head and agree or tell me 'best friend' back. i hope she always is my best friend!

little man is continuing to crack us up and he continues to laugh TONS! he is just waiting for a reason to laugh, and sometimes he caves and bust out laughing for no reason! he is really starting to sit well and is enjoying the excersaucer. he now feels like he needs to sit with us at dinner and snack on whatever we are eating. I have him nursing 3 x's day, 2 bottles, and little baby food in there. i have started making his baby food and it really enjoy it. sometimes i get a little creative but he is a good sport about it.... good thing he loves to eat. I have started adding avocados and ground millet to things. apparently they are really good for brain development and the benefits i have read about them are amazing. he still loves to cuddle and gives great, WET kisses! he loves to grab your face and drown you in his kisses. this weekend with conference it has been a surreal feeling. last conference was the weekend before i was induced on monday. i remember just wondering around trying to get last minute things done and being as anxious for the series of events that were to follow! i can't believe it has been that long already! this conference weekend also marks SEVEN years from nate & i's first date {oh, sweet}! we met at the reflection pool, attended a session of conference, went to lunch at the Macaroni Grill, then took a rigshaw ride! what a ride we have been on... good thing we always fasten our seatbelts because it has been a crazy one!

life is good. i am far behind on some events of our blog BUT life is good. a little stressful as we are trying to figure out loans and mortgage.seven years later we are finally going to be home owners... just in time for my 30th birthday!
