BaBy 'stuff' UpDaTe!!

finally... pictures of the crib. i wish i had the bedding to go with the crib in these pictures but that is coming soon :) hopefully emersyn won't come 'sooner' than it! i also really, really wish we would have taken some before pictures of the crib- the 'transformation' was incredible!!! it was beat up and had this tree'ish/ maple leaf carved into it. so Nate sanded it down and we filled the carved tree in then started painting. we ran into A LOT of problems along the way and it took A LOT longer than i would have ever thought! i kinda lost hope right before my mom came to visit. she helped me get back into it and helped me paint TONS!! i found really cute wood appliques at home depot (thanks to andrea saving me... i was so confused in that store! i think i called her like thirty times and sent her a million text pictures while i was there). so after it was all painted we started the 'antiquing' process and removed some paint and stained it. nate & i had many conversations about how ironic it is that we spent ALL that time trying to make it look old.... and how we spent hours painting it just perfect....just to remove some of the paint?!?! once the stain was dry we glued on the wood appliques and it was finished! the day before it was finished i didn't think it was going to turn out- i just wasn't likin' it. but once we got it together- I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! i told nate emersyn's first words better be " i love my crib mom"- it was so much harder than i thought it was going to be. i also posted a pic of her changing table. this my mom and i found at a garage sale in Utah like a year and a half ago. my mom bought it in hopes of turning it into the counter/sink in her half bath but they didn't get around to it so she let me have it for awihle :)! i refinished the doors/drawers on it. it was much easier than the crib :) i just need to dye the cover for the pad or make a new one because the white on white really doesn't work! and finally after three weeks and two sewing machines later.....

they are finished. 3- YES THREE whole receiving blankets. i think what i am learning is i always try these 'projects' thinking they will be so easy and take me no time at all and then they TAKE SO MUCH MORE!! when i bought the material for the blankets nate said that the butterfly one was emersyn's 'andrea blanket'. he said the first thing he thought when i showed him the material was "that looks like andrea". so now emersyn has some warm flannel blankets. I thought the material was so stinking cute on all of them.... i wouldn't mind having two or three of each of them.... but i guess there aren't that many weeks until she is born :)
and last picture.. my semi-greasy 32 week picture. saturday i realized i hadn't taken a belly shot for the week so i snapped a quick one :)

p.s. i can officially say i am having my baby "next month" YAY!!

It is so fun to FINALLY see the finished product. I did laugh at how anal you were being at details while we were painting, only to distress the crib,later--but I am glad you did... it looks so cute that way!! Emersyn will tell you how much she loves the crib by CHEWING on the rails in a year or so.. just kidding, only my kids' did crazy things like that???

I am so glad you got the crib done! I heard it was quite the pain. You have way more patience than I do. Can't wait till you come. You look so good still. Oh I wouldn't hold your breath on E.J. appreciating the crib until she has her own kids :) At least it is beautiful and turned out amazing!
