five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes ;)

a year ago today we saw our emersyn for the first time, and we have not spent a night away from her since.

what a day! i am sitting here trying to break down what was going on in the hospital at this time. ej wasn't born until 10:55 p.m. i had been admitted at 3:30pm the day prior so it made for a long day of labor. i thought she was never going to come.

we are sitting here watching the "Hope for Haiti" telethon and bawling at the devastation and the orphans. here i am feeling sad (lack of better word) that my baby is growing up but at least she IS growing and healthy and thriving. i just want to bring a few of those kiddos into my home!

i am grateful for my beautiful little girl and the family i have. i am EVER SO thankful tonight for their safety and health throughout our everyday life.
ej has made this last year absolutely wonderful. she was an amazing newborn and she loved to sleep just like her momma. she really only woke up once to eat in the middle of the night from the second night home until about 2 months old. that is when she started sleeping the night! she has been on 8 plane rides, has visited: ohio, new york, pennsylvania, indianna, illinois, nebraska, iowa, wyoming, utah, idaho, california, arizona, washington dc. she has driven across the country twice and has made lots of friends.
* she is a walking machine. she was walking before she crawled.
* says "Hi" to anything and everything. the other day we walked from my bedroom to the family room and she said "hi" to just about every object that we passed. when i open the car door and she sees her carseat she greets in too.
* loves her cozy still very much. whenever she is upset- she looks for it. when she is tired and i show it and a blanket to her she smiles, laughs a little, and then cuddles right into.
* she is a big time cuddler. we have a few cuddle sessions daily.
* she loves dogs. when she sees them or a picture she barks at it. we watched 101 Dalmations the other day and she went NUTS! barking back at the tv.
* dancing to music.
*currently will smile very large 'cheeser' and throw her head back like she is laughing.
* she has 7 teeth.
*weighs 23lbs.
* she has made my day every day for 365 now.... well maybe 355- there have been a few rough days :)
i love spending everyday with her. i have only worked a hand full of days and i wouldn't change it for anything. we go for lots of walks (when it's warm) and play lots and lots.
