St Maarten day 2

day two started with some fun snorkeling right at our resort. they had some fun fish and things to see just a short ways out from the beach. we spent most mornings swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking around the resort then we'd put ej down (someone would stay and layout/read on our porch) for about 1 1/2 hours, then we'd head out for the rest of the day and do some exploring. day two we headed to La Gailion on the french side. our resort coordinator told us about it. it is this AMAZING beach that is about two feet deep for 338 yards. no waves. so ej could play and run and run as much as she wanted- and she DID!

she didn't even mind getting the salt water in her eyes or mouth- she must have got that from her dad because i have SUCH a hard with it. she was in heaven. she even met another girl named ej {elsie jane} from France. over the course of our trip she learned how to put her face in the water. it first started with her mouth- blowing bubbles, then she got up to her nose, then her eyes, and by the end of the trip she'd dunk her entire head in the water. she is such a water baby.

she was very upset when we went to leave and for some reason she thought the appropriate action was to put her head in the sand. So i did the same....while kate took a picture~

after that beach we drove over to Marigot, the French capitol, and ate some YuMmY pastries. they were so divine. we also picked up delicious, fresh breads for dinner and breakfasts.

we enjoyed a drive all over the island followed by a yummy dinner on our deck. that was such a fun part of the trip. sitting outside watching the sun set while munching on yummy food. some nights we ended up talking for hours after the sun was down and the food was gone. could have stayed there for much longer.

we took a BUNCH of pictures as we drove around. this was a a crepe'ry that had an AMAZING view.....

hopefully i'll get the other pictures up MUCh faster than i have been.
