my little man

I kinda have a hard time accepting the fact that I don't document Rowen's life as I did with ej. I think there are many reasons, especially since we lived across the country and that was the only avenue for my family to see her and know what she was up to. I wish I were better at journaling about each of them now. I make goals to, then I fail at them :/ but today was such a sweet day with this handsome boy I had a lot on my mind about him. 

He is a HANDFUL.... he is more then that....my is sooo busy and is in constant motion. He is a climber. I walked in the kitchen the other day and he was standing up on his highchair and when he saw me he got the biggest smile, raised his hands up in the air and stated "TAADA". That was the first time he'd said that. He now says rather frequent and I almost cringe to look at what he is taada 'ing about. But it is one of the cutest noises I have EVER heard! I wish I could keep the sound on here.... I will have to record it at least. He is also saying "ashes, ashes, all all DOWN" and he could play ring around the rosies for hours with ej. He has gotten the head nodding yes and no down.... but he still uses his whole body to move his head.... it is pretty cute. He loves shoes and says shoes. He recieved a cute little wooden tool set for Christmas and he now walks around saying "hammer, hammer, hammer, hammer" as he pounds his fist of one hand into his palm of the other hand. Again, one of the cutest things I've heard. 

He is genuinely sweet. He loves to kiss. He loves to cuddle. If I squat down and throw my arms out, no matter what he is doing, no matter what he has.... he drops everything and runs to my arms for a love. Today was warm {Spring is trying to make it's debut}... so he was wandering around after a hair cut in just his Mickey Mouse trousers {aka diaper}.... I got so excited for summer when I can see more of his smooth, flawless skin.... not covered in layer upon layer of clothing. He, like ej, LOVES his cozies. He loves to put his hand up to his mouth and call out "caaaazi".  He finally learned {the beginning of February} how to master the stairs so if the basement door is the least bit cracked he cruises down there. He loves to explore the basement. It is REALLY NOT child friendly. Sometimes I will follow him down there and just watch what he does. He loves to pull cans out of the food storage and place them in vases- they fit rather nice.... and very snug. He is such a creature of habit. About a month and a half ago he wanted a snack and I placed it on our barstool so he could grab it as he wanted. To let hinm know it was there I tapped the stool to make noise so he'd look. From then on when he wants a snack he goes and taps the barstool. If I go into the pantry he starts tapping the barstool. Pretty funny. He is mastering the use of a fork and now insists on a plate and a fork placed on his high chair tray. Most days he'll start eating without either of those things but once he slows down or sees us using one, he then realizes just what he is missing.

As i rock him for his nap or at bedtime he will cuddle up to me and start humming as a cue for me to sing. He will cuddle with his head on my shoulder and comes to face for a kiss two or three times.

He is literally growing exponentially right now. I feel like if I looked close enough I could see him growing in front of my eyes. It is so fun to see them become little people. There is always a part of you that is sad {for lack of a better word} to see your baby changing so fast, but I am grateful for the chance.

He is starting to just take one nap. His morning nap use to fall during ej's preschool and as nice as it was to have some time in the morning all to myself, I enjoy having one-on-one time with this guy. This particular morning he had wanted a snack, so popcorn it was. Popcorn and Sesame Street while mom dried her hair. He loved it. I, trying to soak it all in, grabbed the camera to capture a moment I wanted to remember.
