here a few pictures Suzy sent me along the way of their flight..... nate met everybody in Draper, dropped ej off and they headed to the airport.
this was ej at 7am asking if we could go to the airport :)
a picnic at the gate....
...on the plane in between grammy and gramp...
picking up the rental min-van....
They flew out about 1pm and at 12pm we loaded into our car to meet up with them. We did stop in Las Vegas for a couple hours to see Lacey and Jordan. It was great for Rowen to stretch a little and we always have fun hanging out with them.... after that we had about 4 hours until we arrived in San Clemente... it was a pretty smoothe drive until we got stuck at the toll road at 1 am being .05 cents short. we seriously had to wait until a car came to the toll booth and ask them for a nickel! lame. We continued on and arrived shortly after that.
rowen enjoying a burrito from Pedros, i believe....
we celebrated Gramp and Layla's bday with this sweet Nacho Libre cake we brought from Springville...
friday was a little overcast but the kids still had fun playing in the sand.
Saturday we had family pictures at San Clemente Beach then ate yummy donuts at Zach & ME's. After hanging out for a little bit and swimming at the pool our little family headed back to the beach while everybody stayed back to watch Conference. The sun came out and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!!
there is a whole sequence of pictures that i LOVE of EJ playing in the waves. she is a total water baby!
we could have stayed until the sun went down, but the Priesthood Session of Conference was that night and so we headed back so nate could go with zach and gramp.
Sunday morning we woke up and headed to Huntington Beach to spend a few hours with Scott and Kimber. We walked from their apartment to main street/the pier and had lunch with them at Ruby's.
these cute girls wanted gumballs SO BADLY... when they got them they were a little hard and they were a little disappointed.
After lumch we walked back to their house and loaded up for the LOOOOONG DRIVE HOME.
ej woke up from her nap in a panic to go to the bathroom... there were no exits for quite sometime. BUT i feel like we weren't the only ones who had a potty emergency at this stop. there was tire that once lined with some napkins made the perfect toilet. ej wasn't thrilled but mainly because she was so tired!
The drive home was NOT FUN, not horrible but just TOO LOOONG! We did have such a fun time and can't wait to go back for another visit!
