emersyn wanted three things for Christmas:
1) pillow pet
2) diamond
3) baby princess doll
and Santa and mom/dad delivered. she was SOOO excited when she saw her presents. it was SOO much fun to see her trying to absorb it all in. this by far, was our best Christmas yet!!! she was great. she was fun helping rowen open his presents and showing him what was inside.

we were at target a few days before christmas and emersyn knew she was there to get rowen a present. then, we saw the pillow pets!!! she flipped and wanted to get herself one. we talked about how it wasn't her turn to buy something. then we mentioned something about her getting one for Rowen. she was very excited and insisted that rowe needed one too. she grabbed one for him and one for her. we had to talk at length about how she wasn't getting one that day. nate and i were both so surprised how well she handled it. she finally said "just baby rowe?" and when we nodded she put hers up. she gave the cashier the money and we left for the day. i was SOOO PROUD of her. i knew it wasn't easy for her but we really felt like it was a good thing to teach her. later that day she talked about rowe's pillow pet and the only she mentioned about hers was Santa bringing it :) she really, really loves him and is SUCH a great bug sister to him and helper to me! she was SOOO excited to give it to him on Christmas. she even helped nate wrap a few days before. she probably won't remember this experience but i will! hopefully we didn't scar her too much!
rowen slept most the day! brett rocked the old man hat from the gas station :)
Christmas afternoon, watching a movie on grandma and grandpa's bed with new blankets and pillows from them..
by the end of the day, she was spent!
