christmas eve

we had a fun christmas weekend! nate had friday through monday off and it was GREAT! we got to spend lots of time celebrating Christmas! the first night we went to see Shawn and Kailey's new house. it was so pretty and fun to see their new place. we went to dinner at Sizzlers after.  don't know why, but we LOVE it there. and, it is perfect for the kiddos. 3 and under eat free and they can eat little bits of different things! the one in bountiful is great! maybe it is our slight white-trash indulgence but whatever it is, we like it! that evening we stopped and got a tree. we didn't have because mom and dad have one upstairs and we thought we could just 'use' theirs. but we caved in and we are SO glad we did. emersyn was in heaven and it smelled SO AMAZING! the entire basement smelled of the yummiest pine! she was so excited every morning the tree was the first thing she would go to. 

Christmas Eve we had crepes for dinner. we usually do Skyline Chili but with me nursing, that was a little too much for Rowen. the crepes were SOOO fun. we did sweet and savory crepes. after dinner we made gingerbread houses. well, ej and i moreso had a demolition project :) it would NOT stay up!!!! we ended up with a pile of gingerbread walls! lame. never year i am buying an already-standing-gingerbread house.

gosh, HOW CUTE ARE THESE TWO!?!?! it blows my mind EVERYDAY that i get to spend EVERYDAY.... especially holidays! it makes holidays THAT much more amazing. Nate and i were so excited for Christmas just to give emersyn her presents and see her reaction. it was so great!
