new year's

phew! what a year! 2011 was a crazy, busy year for us filled with LOTS of milestones. Our top, of course, was Rowen joining our family. Yes, he even beat out graduating law school.... which has been on our radar for the last six years of our marriage. Rowen is just that cool! we are thrilled BEYOND WORDS to have him in our family. the pregnancy was so different but i truly tried my best to embrace every aspect of it! graduating law definitely was in second place. other milestones were:
-another cross country move back to west
-ej's first trip to disney world
-nate taking and passing the BAR
-nate getting his first job
-signing papers on building our new home
we really are becoming real adults. we have always lived in apartments. either basement apartments or condos or whatnot BUT some form of an apartment. we are really excited to become home owners. we met with the designer last week and picked out all our colors and to say that we are excited might be an understatement. we NEVER wanted to build!!! we were looking at all sorts of options and made serious offers on two other homes in the same neighborhood as we are now building. we feel strongly that this is the best road for us. we just weren't even considering building, it is really interesting the turn of events that led us to building. AND we couldn't be more excited!!!! getting to pick and choose everything is SO MUCH FUN!  i can't wait to see everything come together.
i really am 'one of those people' that feels some sort of sense of refreshment and excitement for the new year. i always have high hopes of things to come and love the reflection on the previous year. i can't wait to see what this year will bring us!
