in april, as i was brushing ej's teeth one night i saw some serious cavities! i was devastated that we hadn't caught this early on and that now she would have to go through the process of having them filled. i was hoping that she could handle it with local numbing so we didn't have to put her under general anesthesia. good thing i work for a rockstar dentist.
her cleaning, by yours truly :)
and she ended up doing GREAT! we gave her some valium to help relax her and it was easy peasy! she didn't even KNOW she had any shots and things went so well they were able to take care of all 4 teeth in one visit. i was so proud of her. i took her back to her seat and then explained that Dr White and melissa were going to help her and i left. i thought she'd do better without me.... and she did. i was peeking from the front desk and i was gleaming about how she was acting!!! ashley and i were talking about some of the proudest moments of a parent come when your little ones don't know you are watching them!
the morning before we left, once the valium kicked in, we got some pretty good laughs while emersyn threw her hands up in the air and was yelling "weeee- eew! weeee-eew!" after which she totally ate it and fell on the floor. i mean she didn't even try to catch herself and landed on her face..... then she started laughing uncontrollably. we had to sit her down and try to get her NOT to move because she kept running into things......quite the experience!
she had been asking to go to dr white's for weeks.... everyday i had to tell her "not today"... then she'd wake up from her nap and freak out "we need to go to Dr Whites". it was almost as exciting as Christmas. FINALLy the morning of her appointment came and as she got dressed she said "dr white getting dressed" as we did her hair " dr white doing his hair".... EVERYTHING was about Dr White! too funny!
