..two sick kiddos were all that was found....
Sunday December 23rd was HORRIBLE!!!!!!! rowen kept getting more and more sick. Saturday i laid him down for a nap at noon. he slept until 5:30, woke up for 2.5 hours, went back down at 8:00pm then proceeded to sleep until NOON the following day! I kept checking him scared that he had stopped breathing. I would sneak in his room and leave bottles of Pedialyte and he'd drink a couple ounces be we never heard him awake or stirring in there. He had a pretty high fever so when he woke up we decided to take him to Instacare..... Instacare, on a sunday, the day before Christmas eve, HORRIBLE. They said it was a two hour wait (15 people ahead of us) but we could wait at home.... just to call and check if we were coming up on our turn. They checked his oxygen to see if we needed to head to ER- it was low but not critical so we could wait. An hour into the wait nate called and was told it was about an hour out still. I called an hour later and they said it was an hour and twenty/thirty mins. i lost it! how did we LOSE twenty minutes after an hour passing!!!!! they said there were 7 people ahead of us.... so in 2 hours they helped 8 people?!?! I was confused and mad. Had i known it was going to be over three hours i would have taken him to the ER. But at this point we might as well wait it out. I headed to mom & dad's Johnson family Christmas party with ej (SANTA CAME!) and nate went to instacare. Rowen ended up being diagnosed with RSV and Bacterial pneumonia! poor kiddo was so sick. ej got worse and worse at my parent's so we headed home. nate had to run to the ONE and ONLY pharmacy open on sunday in utah county {which you can imagine the wait there} and he got home at about 9:30. we got the kids ready for bed, gave rowen his one dose antibiotic, and instantly he threw it up! this was about 9:50! we were in a HORRIBLE position. the pharmacy couldn't refill it. the instacare was closed. i called his pediatrician and they were actually still seeing patients from the day. they wouldn't call in a new prescription without seeing him.... which required SAME EXACT PROCEDURES as was done a few hours ago AND the insurance wouldn't cover it twice in one day so it was ALLLLL going to be out of pocket. I was beyond spent, as was nate. We were loading up to go to the Dr office and i asked nate just to run by the instacare and see if there were cars there and if there were- knock until somebody came to the door!!! luckily, they were there, the door was unlocked, and they were able to give us a new (different) prescription- which the insurance wouldn't cover- but we at least got it in him! Nate got home from that jaunt around midnight. I was laying on rowen's floor {afraid of him stopping breathing} and ej was getting worse and worse and had this most awful cough. she was thrashing and puking she was coughing so hard. at 2:45 nate couldn't handle watching her get worse and not being able to do anything about it! he loaded her up and they headed to the ER. She was diagnosed with bronchiolitis and the beginning of bacterial pneumonia. SOOOO nate was headed back the same one pharmacy that was open for his third trip. emersyn and nate got home on Christmas eve at 7:00 am! Needless to say, Christmas Eve was very eventful to start off and ended very UNEVENTFUL!!!!
{PHEW, if you are still reading this i am impressed!}

Ummmm, that sounds like the most HELLISH day ever!!! Poor kids AND poor parents! Looks like another reason for you to move to So. Cal...nothing closes on Sunday (except for Chick fil a and Hobby Lobby) and a ton of things are still open on holidays! (which is sad in my opinion, but comes in handy in cases like this!) Hope everyone is all better now!!
